This DIY herb planter project is aimed at young adults who want to start living a more sustainable life but don’t know how to start. We wanted to create an explorative unboxing experience that emphasizes sustainable living can be fun and easy. The tone words we wanted to hit were adventurous, eco-friendly, playful, and natural.
The calming color scheme draws from nature: leaves, wood, sky. The playful geometric illustrations help the product feel simple and approachable. To create an engaging unboxing experience, we used layers and sectioning to gradually reveal the products. As each progressive layer is removed, the perspective of the illustrated forest becomes closer, like the user is venturing deeper into the woods.
